Volunteer!

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Tenants Legal Hotline. We are a group of Ithaca-based volunteers working together to help all renters locally and throughout upstate New York with any legal issues they may have. There are three main ways you can volunteer with us: intake, legal aid, and other (media, technical, finance, etc.).

Intake volunteers are the people that tenants speak with when they call our hotline. They field general non-legal inquiries, answer and return calls/emails, and complete the intake form with tenants who prefer to do so over the phone.
Legal volunteers are current law students, legal interns, legal fellows, recent law graduates, and/or licensed attorneys. They will read the intake form and follow up with tenants to provide legal assistance.
Other. We also accept volunteers who would like to help with secretarial work, social media, tech/automation, finance, etc. All ideas and talents are welcome!

Intake Volunteer Availability
